Handbook - from the U.S. Department of Labor is a nationally
recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable

Revised every two years, the Handbook describes what workers do on the job,

individual occupations is best done using the PDF files that are provided. There

Online - was formed in 1989 and currently enrolls degree-seeking adult
students from all over the U.S. and the world. The Online program uses the
power of the Internet to deliver online learning that is independent of time and
location. Rather than gathering in a classroom, students and instructors
interact online or offline in a forum using Microsoft® technology. Classes are
offered one at a time, in sequence. There are no semesters, so students can
begin a course of study any month of the year. A student can concentrate on one

Don't Mess with Texas Scholarship will award one $3,000 and two $1,000
scholarships to high school seniors who have made a difference in keeping their
schools and communities clean. You can download the forms needed to apply by
going to this web site. Please read all of the information carefully. Then
prepare an essay of 300 to 350 words (that's less than a page) explaining how
you have helped combat litter in your community. Be sure to state the problem
and explain how you initiated or became involved in a creative and sustainable
solution. After writing your essay, you'll need to include one letter of
recommendation from a school source and one from a non-school source with your
application. Have your sources place their letters in an envelope and sign their

Wildflower Center - located at 4801 LaCrosse Avenue in Southwest Austin.
Admission to the Wildflower Center is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 5
- 12, with children under 5 admitted free. The Web site is worth a visit, it's
colorful and easy to get around and filled with information on native plants,
publications, and upcoming events.

Audiovisual Library - The Texas Department of Health Audiovisual Library
has a collection that circulates throughout Texas on a free short-term loan
basis. It includes a variety of health and safety topics for general

Spanish and others are bilingual, English and Spanish on the same tape. There is
no charge for Texas residents to borrow from the library except for return
